Privacy Policy for Threadly
Last Updated: September 18, 2026
Welcome to Threadly. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles your data.
1. Data Collection and Storage
Threadly is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, transmit, or store your email data on any external servers owned by us.
- Email Data: All your emails, contacts, and account information are fetched directly from your email provider (e.g., Google/Gmail) and stored locally on your device in an encrypted database.
- Authentication: We use OAuth 2.0 to authenticate with Google. Your OAuth tokens are stored securely on your device and are never sent to our servers.
2. Third-Party AI Integrations (OpenRouter)
Threadly offers optional AI features (like thread summaries and reply generation).
- These features are completely opt-in and require you to provide your own OpenRouter API key.
- If you use these features, the specific email content you choose to summarize or reply to will be sent directly from your device to the OpenRouter API (and the underlying LLM provider you select) via a secure connection.
- We do not intermediate this connection, nor do we log or store your prompts or the AI responses on any of our own servers. Please review OpenRouter's privacy policy for how they handle data sent to their API.
3. Analytics and Tracking
Threadly does not include any third-party trackers, analytics SDKs, or advertising modules. We do not track your usage.
4. Contact Us
